Schedule: 2nd shift: Monday to Friday, 2pm-10pm (Possible Overtime)
Entry Level Production – 2nd shift
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY:
Under supervision, the Operator Assistant supports plant operations by performing various tasks to maintain production flow, including but not limited to:
- Safely receiving glass and sorting them by glass type,
- Pulling orders and cutting/breaking glass,
- Loading/unloading glass using cranes, hoists, forklifts and/or manually,
- Measuring and inspecting glass for accuracy and quality control,
- Staging finished products and assembling hardware,
- Trimming interlayer edges and loading glass onto baking trays,
- Operating computer-controlled machinery and hand/power tools,
- Sorting and packing glass by thickness for shipment,
- Reading and understanding a tape measurer up to 1/16th of an inch and sometimes millimeters/centimeters.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred,
- Read a tape measurer,
- Good Communication skills,
- Excellent attendance,
- Works well with others.
Starting pay: $18.80/hour
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires continuous standing, sitting, reaching, walking, talking, stopping, kneeling, crawling and lifting.
- Manually lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
