Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY:

The Financial Planning & Analysist Specialist is responsible for the financial support of business operations, including, but not limited to, financial forecasting, business partnering, financial reporting and analysis. The primary responsibility of this role is to connect senior management’s long term “strategic plan” to reality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Setting, developing, and analyzing standard costs of manufactured goods
  • Collects and analyzes data for operational costs
  • Recommends changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
  • Understands organizational accounting concepts
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Prepares annual budgets, ongoing forecasts and conducting variance analysis to show how the budget and/or rolling forecast compares against actual performance
  • Reviews monthly expenses and provides variance explanations

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of combined experience in accounting and/or finance
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) with the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced mathematical and logical deduction skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Self-motivated
  • In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail
